Foodbank of Indonesia is the first non-profit organisation to operate as a food bank in Indonesia. We work to advance prosperity and fight hunger through community empowerment programs, bringing people together to open up food access for one another.

Foodbank of Indonesia's head office is at Jl. Bendi Utama No.9, Kel. Kebayoran Lama Utara, Kec. Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, Special Capital Region of Jakarta. FOI also has representatives in a number of cities and regencies, which you can see here.

FOI's operating hours are Monday–Friday, 09.00 – 17.00 WIB.

FOI's programs empower communities to open up food access and build food self-sufficiency through education, developing community kitchens, starting community food gardens, and redistributing surplus food donations.

Your donation supports our work to bring food to the people who need it — whether that means sourcing ingredients, covering the cost of delivery, or equipping FOI volunteers with what they need to cook and share.

Get in touch with the FOI Hotline or FOI's social media, and we will point you to the nearest FOI office or partner. We accept a wide range of food items, which are prepared by community kitchens and shared with local people in need.

FOI accepts all kinds of packaged dry goods (staples, side dishes, seasonings, snacks, drinks and so on) that are still fit for consumption, sealed, and safely stored. For fresh food such as vegetables, fruit and meat, please coordinate directly with the FOI team so we can receive it while it is still fresh and safe to eat.

The FOI team sorts every donation on arrival to make sure the food is still fit for consumption. If there is any sign of declining quality, the team runs an organoleptic test to determine whether the food can still be eaten. Food that is no longer fit for consumption is passed on to partner farmers or maggot and catfish breeders — part of FOI's commitment to zero waste and to keeping the food cycle going.

FOI can accept a variety of gently used items for children, such as toys, books, clothes, stationery and more. These donations are distributed through our community school partners and help make children's learning and daily activities that little bit brighter.

In opening up food access, FOI prioritises those most vulnerable to hunger and malnutrition — toddlers, children, pregnant women and nursing mothers — as well as those who struggle to access food, such as older people, informal workers, people with disabilities, and low-income families.

FOI works with community-run and public education institutions that charge no fees or only minimal fees. Each institution forms a volunteer community that helps drive activities and communication between FOI and the institution. Schools, mosques, community kitchens and posyandu (community health posts) can register through this page.

You can help fight hunger by redistributing surplus food that is still fit for consumption. From packaged food and drinks to fresh produce and cooked or buffet meals, FOI will connect you with the nearest FOI volunteers and deliver your donation to be shared with our beneficiaries.

You can collaborate with FOI to bring goodness to the people around you by running programs, raising donations, or developing communities. Private companies can also organise volunteering activities for their employees, taking real action and sharing directly with beneficiaries.

You can become an FOI partner in sharing goodness. From running programs and distributing donations to research, education, training and community development, there is a great deal of collaboration to explore — and a far wider impact to create together.
